Retiring 2014-2016 In Colors Blog Hop

In Colors Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop!  Stampin’ Up! announced it’s retired list yesterday – while we are sad to see some of our favorite products leave the catalog, we are certain that some amazing new products are on their way.  As we introduce the 2016-2018 In Colors to you, we know we have to say goodbye to the 2014-2016 In Colors.  Today’s Blog Hop is filled with inspiring projects that share some great ideas – featuring Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow.  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

It is always sad to say good-bye to our beautiful In-Colors every year. The outgoing colors were not my favorites and very seldom came off the shelf. The colors always felt heavy to me and I tend to stay in the Subtles and Brights as my go to colors. As I brought out these stamp pads for probably the last time I hemmed and hawed over which of the 5 to showcase. That is when I brought out my favorite stamp set and decided to make a garden.

It started with using only Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist. I noticed a blank spot that screamed for a Blackberry Bliss butterfly. As I was assembling my card I saw Lost Lagoon sitting all alone, still in its wrapper looking like its name…lost and lonely. I actually found myself feeling sad for this pad. Then I got an idea to sponge a little sky. I took it out of the wrapper hoping the pad wasn’t dried and shriveled from neglect, and there it was in all it’s eager glory, still full and ready to be used.

When I was finished and my card was put together I made a promise that I will not neglect my In-Colors anymore. The 2016-2018 colors were just revealed to us this week and they are really nice. I can’t wait to share them with all of you soon! In the mean time i hope you like my little garden I made today.

  1. What an incredible garden! And I’m so happy you gave Lost Lagoon some love :). And, OMG. The Gold Wink of Stella on the sentiment?!? Love, love, love.

  2. Beautiful card, Pam! I’m so happy you could hop with us today! I love how you’ve incorporated all of the colors – even Lost Lagoon makes it (brilliantly) into your flower card. Love it!
